Tierno Monémembo is a Guinean novelist whose work revolves around two axes: the powerlessness of intellectuals in Africa and the life of exiled Africans. This is a study of L’aîné des orphelins (published in English as The Oldest Orphan), the story of a young boy convicted of murder during the Rwandan Genocide.
