During the last two centuries of the Middle Ages, numerous authors put themselves at the centre of their work and reflected on the process of writing. Around the same time, the interest for travel literature is growing considerably. This study examines the transformation of the travel experience in written texts in the travel poems by Eustache Deschamps and the travel narratives included in Jean Froissart’s Chroniques.
