During the fifties and sixties the theatrical works of Georges Schehadé (1905-1989) were the most renowned ones in regard to the Nouveau Théâtre. This study looks at the reception of the plays by Schehadé in France. It includes for the first time the entire work of La Soirée des proverbes and invites the reader to appreciate the works of this Lebanese playwright and poet.
