This study looks at three French popular chanson singers. Juliette Gréco who incarnates the French chanson “rive gauche”, Mademoiselle K, a popular French rock band, and Bruno Joubrel, an auto-produced artist. On the one hand, the author looks at questions concerning the composition and interpretation of their songs. On the other hand, the author focuses on the different versions of the songs; from the first draft to the finished album, by also considering rehearsals and concerts.
